Is it KOSHER to Play the "Race Card"? We Think it's TRAIFE.

Chloe Valdary
Is it KOSHER to call an intelligent, articulate, passionately pro-Israel African American woman a "Negro Uncle Tom" on social media? We think NOT!!! In fact, we think it's TRAIFE!!!

Thursday - Listen to Lorelai's interview with 20 year old New Orleans student and social media sensation ChloƩ Simone Valdary whose pro-Israel video has gone madly viral, making her a target of racism on Twitter.

"Heart to Heart with Lorelai" airs Thursday on Radio Free Nachlaot at 6:30pm Israel time/8:30am Pacific/10:30am Central/11:30am Eastern RIGHT HERE at www.radiofreenachlaot.com ( H2H is a Mitzvah Media production, produced by Wendy Kenin).

Also on RFN's Thursday programming schedule - "Israeli Soul Afternoon" music from Raz Hartman (don't forget to catch him in Oakland, California on March 3rd!), the Bat Ayin Band, and music from previous JEWLICIOUS FESTIVALS (Jewlicious X is this weekend in Long Beach), plus "Temple Talk" with Rabbi Chaim Richman and Yitzchak Reuven of the Temple Institute (5pm Israel time).

It was 50 Years Ago Today - Again???!!!

Yes, for the 3rd week running, it was 50 years ago today that the Beatles were on the Ed Sullivan Show for the 3rd week in a row.  America was crazed over the Beatles, and Ed Sullivan, the master promoter and "barker" that he was knew a good thing when he saw it. His ratings were through the roof, and although we had to sit through a whole bunch of other stuff, we got to see the Beatles on Sunday Night T.V.
Now, for the record, the performance was actually recorded on the afternoon of February 9th.
As Wikipedia reports:
"That afternoon The Beatles recorded Twist And ShoutPlease Please Me and I Want To Hold Your Hand, in front of a different audience to the one that saw their live debut that evening. This set was broadcast on 23 February as the group's third Ed Sullivan appearance, after they had left the US. Before the recording, Sullivan introduced the group thus:
All of us on the show are so darned sorry, and sincerely sorry, that this is the third and thus our last current show with The Beatles, because these youngsters from Liverpool, England, and their conduct over here, not only as fine professional singers but as a group of fine youngsters, will leave an imprint of everyone over here who's met them.
Ed Sullivan

So tonight, Sunday Night Live - radio - will feature (once again) the Beatles!  We'll do a quick review and play appearances numbers one and two, and then, sometime around 8:30 PM Jerusalem Time, we will have appearance number 3 just as it sounded 50 years ago today.

Yes, it was 50 years ago today, and Ed Sullivan introduced the band to play.....

So stay tuned, we might have some other sixties goodies for you, as well.

C Ya on the Radio!

(and for those who are wondering -- the Rory Michelle Homegrown appearance will be re-broadcast NEXT Sunday night - without any interference from the Beatles!
