The 9 DAYS OF JERRY Continue - With Love from "Jerry Day" in San Francisco!

This is the first year that Lorelai and Steve haven't been together for the 9 Days of Jerry.  But as hashkacha (Divine Providence) would have it,  Lorelai is visiting her family in the Bay Area this summer, and was able to go to the 11th Annual Jerry Day Celebration at the Jerry Garcia Amphitheater in San Francisco.

What a wonderful day, surrounded by so much color and so much love - and what a trip it was to tell people about RFN and how astonished, delighted and positive people were to discover that there is the world's most hard-core Dead fan base in the Holy Land!

Lorelai interviewed Jerilyn Lee Brandelius, author of the soon to be re-released "Grateful Dead Family Album," (and former wife of Mickey Hart). Also got to meet MOUNTAIN GIRL (what an honor!) and hope to be interviewing her this week as well.

Stu Allen and the Mars Hotel were AMAZING, and of course Melvin Seals and the JGB were the sweetest. But that's not all- immediately after the show, Lorelai was whisked away by her (too modest to be named) magic fairy godmother to Shoreline Amphitheater, to see BOB DYLAN!!! Who opened for Bob but My Morning Jacket (at least half of their set was Grateful Dead cover tunes) and Wilco - joined on stage by BOB WEIR - they did "Ripple" into "St. Stephen" into "When I Paint My Masterpiece." Lorelai for sure thought she was already in heaven.

Bob Dylan blew away the house - it was a gevaldik show - so wonderful to be able to be a part of this love party!

Lorelai reports:

I must report that Bob looked and sounded GREAT. I was surprised but not surprised - after all, it's his most Gemini trait (constant change).

I was sitting next to a metal head-banger who LOVES Dylan and said: "This is my 6th Dylan show and I've figured out he does it on purpose just to f*ck with us," (meaning he sometimes does a less than perfect show just to keep us guessing).

The Set List:
Things Have Changed
Love Sick
Highwater
? (have no idea) probably from Bob's new album "Tempest"
Simple Twist of Fate
Ducaine Whistle
She Belongs To Me
? (really have no idea) also probably from "Tempest"

Blind Willie McTell
Simple Twist of Fate
Summer Days
All Along The Watchtower
Ballad of a Thin Man
